The TR CU 016/2011 is intended to ensure the uniform application and enforcement of the requirements for gas-powered appliances in the territory of the customs union, as well as the free movement of goods.

The gas-powered equipment may be placed on the market of Russia and the EAEU only if it complies with the requirements of this and other EAEU technical regulations, if applicable.
TR CU 016/2011 is equivalent to the EC Directive 2009/142/EC On gas appliances.

At the request of the applicant, the EAC Declaration can be replaced with the EAC Certification. This can be relevant if the applicant is lacking his own proof or it is not sufficient to prove the compliance with the requirements of this technical regulation.
The EAC conformity assessment of gas-powered equipment is carried out according to one of the three procedures, at the choice of the applicant: for the serial delivery, for one-time supply and for serial production.

The products confirmed to conform to TR CU 016/2011 must be marked with the EAC conformity marking before market being brought to market. The conformity marking is to be affixed to each gas-powered unit as well as the corresponding operating documents. It is also permissible to place the marking only on the packaging and the corresponding operating documents if the marking of the gas-powered equipment is not possible. In this case, the marking must be placed on the gas- powered equipment in such a way that it is easily recognizable and readable during the entire service cycle. The appropriate marking may only be carried out if the corresponding equipment meets the requirements of all the technical regulations under which it falls.
The EAC attestation for products in serial production is valid for 3 years.
