What is GOST R Declaration of Conformity?
GOST R Declaration of Conformity is the official document issued to a manufacturer, importer or retailer to confirm that his products meet Russian safety regulations. It is a pre-requisite for products being placed on the Russian market and is required for customs clearance.
A declared product should display the registered GOST R sign or The Mark of Conformity to demonstrate compliance with applicable Russian standards.Top
Application Scope
Of those products in Russia needing mandatory verification of conformity, 45% to 50% are required to have the GOST R Declaration of Conformity.
The Governmental Decree № 982 dated December 1, 2009 cancelled mandatory certification and prescribed Declarations of Conformity for the following product categories:
food products, except for children’s food;
products of light industry, except for children’s products;
perfumery - cosmetic products;
household chemical goods;
fertilizers;
paints and varnishes;
household goods and containers manufactured from plastic;
fixing elements up to 12 mm in size;
engines of low power;
accumulators and batteries;
cutting tools;
wrenches, except for lever wrenches;
devices for control and regulation of technological processes (manometers, signaling devices and analyzers of gas and water);
electric laboratory and portable devices;
optics;
printing (polygraphic) equipment;
ship equipment.
