Battery declaration
In all countries within the Customs Union you can only sell batteries with the relevant documents.
The safety requirements for batteries and the procedure and rules for assessing their conformity are defined in Customs Union technical regulations such as
"Electromagnetic compatibility of technical devices";
"On safety of low-voltage devices".
When selling batteries in any country of the Customs Union it is mandatory to obtain a declaration. They are required for these types of products:
alkaline;
acidic;
Alkaline; Acid; Galvanic.
A declaration for batteries is only required if the manufacturer or seller has obtained product certification. Only in this case the product can be sold on the territory of the Russian Federation legally.
Battery declaration schemes
There are different types of batteries. For products of the nickel cadmium, sealed and disk types, the applicant must provide independent proof of product safety. In this case, the 1d or 2d schemes apply. If, however, a declaration is required for primary galvanic and acid batteries, then confirmation by an accredited certification body is required. In this case, Schemes 3d, 4d or 6d are used.
The certification body will register the declaration after it has been analysed. As a result, it will be given a registration number, which will include the organisation's identification code. The declaration will also be given a serial number. After the paperwork has been filed the document will be legally binding, which will make it possible to sell batteries on a completely legal basis.
